DESCRIPTION: Set El Hosen means the “prettiest of the pretty.” It is an orchestral piece that was composed for a film featuring Nagwa Fouad in the 1980s. It is a very dramatic classical Egyptian piece, technically a mejance. This type of musical composition is special and unique because it allows for the full flowering and expression of Egyptian dance, not possible in pop songs with one rhythm. Set El Hosen has many. Please note that this is an advanced class requiring a high level of skill. It is also a “no complaint zone class” (which, of course, I say lovingly). I do want to be upfront about the fact that it will be demanding, as our other classical Egyptian pieces have been over the past 5 years. This dance is likely to close the 2025 Show.

COST: $80 per month once per month for three months, beginning the day you register. The deadline for registration is Friday, March 7, after which time the price goes up $10/month. Please note that there are no refunds, discounts for missed classes, transfers of registration/credit to other students, or refunds due to instructor illness, weather rescheduling or power outages.
