WHERE: Live in person at Baan Muay Thai with recordings here: https://GinaDances.Podia.com
WHEN: Thursdays, April 21 - June 16 (no class April 28 and May 12).
DESCRIPTION: The Shamadan is a candelabra worn on the head. Shamadan dancing, as part of the Egyptian wedding processional, began in the early 20th century. It is flashy and impressive as a stage dance, whether done by troupes or individuals. Dancing with the shamadan is an exercise in balancing, but it is not much harder than balancing a sword. Finger cymbal use will be optional, but finger cymbals will probably be used in the November show. Some floor work will be involved, but modifications can and will be made for those who find this too challenging. The class will be held at the (soft floor!) dojo, Baan Muay Thai. It will not be broadcast live, but will be recorded for later viewing. This class is open to any 2021 Advanced level dancer. Class requires a minimum of 10 students.
LOCATION: Baan Muay Thai, Lebanon.
