WHERE: Hanover Rec Center, Hanover
TIME: 5:45-7:00 (75 minutes)
WHEN: Tuesdays, 8 weeks beginning April 7.
This veil choreography class is designed for intermediate students, as well as any other advanced student who would like to learn a veil choreography. It will introduce students to dancing with the veil in a choreography designed to teach the requisite skills. Veil dancing is excellent for posture and body carriage, and possibly more effective than any other prop or dance at doing so, within our genre. It confers a confidence and elegance that is otherwise difficult to acheive. For the newest intermediate students, this is a required class comprising the second of a five-six semester sequence at intermediate level (technique semesters, veil, cane and zills). Each class begins with core exercises. The class will be videotaped and the replay will be sent to anyone who is absent. Please see “What To Bring” below as you’ll need some accessories for class.
PLEASE NOTE: All classes above beginner level require instructor permission (by email).
LOCATION: Hanover Rec Center (Richard W. Black Center), Hanover, NH
FAQs: See FAQ’s page regarding foul weather, make-up classes and other issues.
WHAT TO BRING/WEAR: See FAQ’s page . New Level 2 students will be asked to acquire a thick yoga mat to bring to each class for exercises. This class will require a veil. If you do not own a veil, please include $25 for a chiffon veil which Gina will purchase for you. If you do not already own a veil, please do not buy one and bring it in as the performance veil will be included in the full cost of the class. If you do already own a veil, you can opt to bring your old one or get a new one for this semester (fall performance will require the matching veil, but you can decide later to get it). Let me know.
COST: $170 + $25 for veil (total $195 if you need a veil) in advance by check (please speak with me if you need a payment plan for class). Please postmark check by Friday, March 13, and send to: Gina Capossela, 2090 Moore Road, South Royalton, VT 05068. Please note that we cannot offer refunds, discounts for missed classes (although we encourage make-ups for this class in Beginner classes), transfers of registration/credit to other students, or refunds due to weather rescheduling.
